“You’re free to disagree if you agree to follow me” the side effects 2006

This London based band formed by producer Ben Astrop and vocalist “Jack” is ready to take on the world with their raging guitar infused dance anthems. If you can imagine Mike Patton wailing Princes melodies over an infusion of RATM and Bassment Jaxx then add the attitude of The Prodigy you might just begin to get an idea of the massive sound of the side effects.
Ben and Jack first met in London’s music hot spot, Camden Town in the late nineties. They shared similar views on the music scene and a collaboration seemed inevitable; the initial ideas that would eventually become TSFX were formed.

Ben Astrop had formed “Electro Rock” three piece “Alien Breed” and was promptly signed to Los Angeles based label Delicious Vinyl/Universal home to such acts as Tone Loc, Brand New Heavies, Lit and The Pharcyde. He recorded the album “antidote” in LA featuring mixes by rock supremo Andy Wallace and toured the US for two years.
Jack was part of the multi cultural guitar rock band “Howser” He was signed to Independent label Cut Records and recorded “Release the Beast” featuring controversial single “Caveman” at Bennett Studios New Jersey in early 2004.

On returning to London in early 2006 they felt that rock music was not progressing and that perhaps the alternative should become the mainstream. Now armed with many hook driven infectious tracks they have taken the stage with exciting live performances featuring amazing visuals that are as much at home in a dance club as at a rock venue.
